CBC Summer House: Our Annual Island Adventure

CBC Summer House 2019

Dear Nantucket,

Year after year, you continue to steal our hearts with your gray weathered cottages, soft sandy beaches, and quaint little shops. It’s no wonder we keep coming back.

View of the ocean through sunglasses

We hosted our 15th Annual Summer House this June, inviting a group of 28 top lifestyle media and influencers to soak in the salty air with us. Our brand partners hosted a variety of activities, from surfing lessons to facials by the pool. Terrible, right?

Here’s a glimpse of our perfect New England getaway.

DAY 1

Media eating Dole Spoonable Smoothies at CBC Summer House

The morning began with a healthy and colorful breakfast thanks to Dole’s Spoonable Smoothies. These smoothie bowls are packed with fruit and make for an easy grab-and-go breakfast. We had a huge stash of these in the freezer, but by the end of the week, they had disappeared. Wonder what happened…

Essentia hosted circuit training on the front lawn, which pretty much made our fitness dreams come true. It was a tough workout, but a great way to boost our energy and stock up on hydration before the jam-packed day ahead.

Bike ride with Bose Bluetooth-connected sunglasses

After some chill time, we explored the island on our favorite mode of transportation—bicycles! Bose supplied us with Bluetooth-connected sunglasses that made it easy to listen to music on our bikes while still being able to hear our surroundings, ensuring a safe ride.

Brant Point Light seen from a Discover Boating cruise

Discover Boating took us out for a happy hour sail to the historic Brant Point Lighthouse. Look at that flag! The Americana Dream.

When we returned to our abode, we were greeted by Home Depot, who arranged a magical dinner setup while we were out. They graced our patios with furniture that’s chic, durable, comfy, and—get this—it resists stains! Home Depot performed a “spill test” by pouring Pinot Noir on the beige cushions (yikes!) and then swiftly wiping it off, leaving no trace of wine.

DAY 2

Rise & shine! We woke up for a nutrition demo from Potatoes USA. Did you know that potatoes contain potassium, fiber, protein, AND energy-boosting carbs? We ate the spuds in many forms—home fries, shredded potato egg “nests,” and even a pomegranate potato smoothie, which was surprisingly yummy! Potatoes were the perfect fuel for our interval workout later that morning.

Media and influencers wearing SwimUSA suits and wetsuits with surfboards in front of ocean

Surf’s up! Swim USA treated us to an afternoon of surfing. Many of us had never surfed before, so lessons from ACK Surf School were very appreciated. Some rookie surfers even stood up on their boards a couple of times!

Hors d'oeuvres spread including sliced grapes on crackers

We came home to a delicious and refreshing afternoon snack spread from Grapes from California. How cute are these sliced grapes on crackers?

Vineyard Vines hosted a cocktail hour by the water and dinner in town. Of course, we were decked out head-to-toe in Vineyard Vines, which was perfect for our final festive evening on the island.

Cheers!

DAY 3

We started our final day on the island with more exercise and more food… Are you sensing a theme yet? We kicked off the morning with a core-sculpting pilates class.

Pilates and Pops workout by Halo Top

After working up an appetite, we treated ourselves to ice cream for breakfast. Sounds indulgent, but Halo Top Pops are actually pretty guilt-free. The popsicles are the low-cal, low-sugar Halo Top you love, on a stick!

Aesthetician giving media a facial using Biossance products

Finally, Biossance arranged the best facials, which sent us home feeling rejuvenated. The aesthetician used Biossance’s cleansing gel, rose mask, moisturizer, and more—all non-toxic and made with clean, sustainably sourced ingredients. Each product contains their hero ingredient squalene, a derivative of sugarcane that lends weightless moisture for a natural glow.
